The Crimson Cascade Necklace
A diamond rivière rises to a marquise-diamond crown around a pear-cut ruby, then falls through graduated pear rubies to a major pear drop.
A fine diamond rivière lifts from the collarbone to a sunburst of marquise diamonds framing a central pear-cut ruby, then releases a vertical cascade of graduated pear rubies, each linked by a single brilliant-cut diamond, ending in one large pear-cut ruby drop. The architecture is deliberately vertical: the eye is drawn upward along the rivière, pauses at the radiant marquise crown, and descends stone by stone through deepening reds until the final, weighty pear ruby settles against the skin.
Each ruby has been selected for a saturated crimson that holds its depth in both daylight and candlelight. The marquise diamonds surrounding the central stone are set in a starburst arrangement that opens the design outward, giving the necklace a sense of breath and light at its apex. Below, the graduated pear rubies grow richer and larger as they fall, their intervals punctuated by single brilliant-cut diamonds that keep the cascade luminous. The white gold metalwork recedes entirely, leaving only the geometry of stone and light.
Worn, the piece sits close at the collarbone before its cascade descends along the décolletage, moving quietly with the wearer. It is a necklace conceived as a single gesture: ascent, crown, and fall, resolved in ruby and white gold.
